Using messages sent between objects to transform ZZT's gameplay and make an engine

Learn how to make a ZZT game by following along with me!

In this episode we use objects sending messages to each other to radically change from ZZT's standard gameplay. We create a minigame where the player controls a large UFO and activates a tractor beam to abduct unsuspecting humans below!

In addition to coding everything, we discuss a little about what would make for a good challenge and how to win/lose. In the end we create a timer (displayed with objects), a counter for how many humans have been abducted, and an energy meter to limit how many times the player can activate the tractor beam.
