Learn how to make a ZZT game by following along with me!
In this episode we use objects sending messages to each other to radically change from ZZT's standard gameplay. We create a minigame where the player controls a large UFO and activates a tractor beam to abduct unsuspecting humans below!
In addition to coding everything, we discuss a little about what would make for a good challenge and how to win/lose. In the end we create a timer (displayed with objects), a counter for how many humans have been abducted, and an energy meter to limit how many times the player can activate the tractor beam.If you're following along with this series, I'd love to see what you create! Feel free to share screenshots with @worldsofzzt on Twitter and if you finish a game, upload it to the Museum of ZZT! Worlds of ZZT on YouTube
