E. CyberBRO: Notice- DeadPhrog submitted an article from a temporary address
but when I got it in, It seem a tad bit corrupted. I've gotten most of it
though but missed the first sentence or so. But for those of you who may
be offended by anyway of what he will say, DON'T READ!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, I thought I'd report to you on a little contraversy......
Zzturbo/Zpower, is the source of this little matter....As most of you=
 noticed,
(assuming you read the last NL, I wont point fingers....) in the last issue=
 of
the NL, several games by members of Z/Z were included. In most people's
opinion the games included weren't up to the supposed high standards of Z/Z.
Also, one of the games from Z/Z was a direct ripoff of STRIKESOFT's=
 (formerlly
Ablo Di) Super Chuck. Owcp, the Z/Z member who 'wrote' the ripoff even went
as far to include a board from Super Chuck, that he exported. That game, if
you could call it one, is known as Yoshi's Adventure 2. Yoshi's adventure=
 2,
Owcp's ripoff, is also a ripoff of Chris Kohler's Yoshi seris, but Owcp=
 asked
permission to use Yoshi. For all of the games by Z/Z that were included=
 with
the last NL, Zzturbo said that one of them, Castle Choas, was the 'old
original outline version'. Owcp has said something similar about Yoshi's
Adventure 2, saying that 'that's not how it's going to be.' He also said he
was planning on using the top-view adventure style for the game, instead of=
=20
the side-view platform style. Also, it's almost unanimous that what we've
seen of Uzzt is a flop. In the preview all that were there were crappy
objects that anyone above Evan Darrow could do, and the music is lifted from
a Zzt game by Gregory Janson, the creator of MegaZeux.... Zzturbo's=
 magazines
all claim every game by Zzturbo is really kewl, and all ours suck!! I'm=
 sorry
Z/z, but you got it backwards..... I mean look at games like Freakish Town
for MZX, now here's a game with animated character.... but does it deserve=
 the
title of a game? I think not...Great story, a pirate named Assalone, that's
the kind of name I use when I phone prank people!!! OOhhhh... the big,=
 scarey
bad guy that you beat by constantly hitting !!!
Whew...I feel better now!! I've got that off my chest. Now, you probably
don't think this is important, but too bad. Here is a profile on Gregory
Janson, the creator of MZX.

(these descritions are in his own words)
Gregory Janson
Physical disc.:
Male. 17 as of jan 22 1996, dark blond hair (to shoulders, ponytailed)
tall (6"1'+) very fair skinned, um... not a prominent nose :-) um..
Residence:
California. La Crescenta (30 min from LA)
Intrests (music, what types of things he likes to do):
Programming (duh), he doesn't listen to radio music, although he does like=
 to
compose his own strange stuff a lot (many types) he does other stuff too..=
 he
plays games (Card- MTG, Roleplay- Werewolf, VideoRpgs like FF and
ChronoTrigger) Boy scouts, etc.
What first interested him in programming:
Don't know. :) Liked computers, liked logic, liked math, started getting
curious.. :) 6 yrs old or so.

Some things Janson thinks:
"I think school sucks, because I think I'd learn more for a future=
 programming
career by staying home (honestly) As for math, I'm good at it although I=
 don't
especially like it. I'm decent at, and can live with, everything except
history."

Personally I agree with Janson, I'd learn more about my future career as a
programmer at home too, but unlike SOME zzt/mzxers, I plan to go beyond MZX,
and have already started doing so.....

Company updates:
SHATTERED PERSPECTIVES GAMES
Well, since aol wont let me upload anything, Boxboss hasen't been beta=
 tested.
All projects I was working on have been delayed, because of a little work in
my learning of C++. Yes that's right, can you say 3D????? Texture mapping=
 is
within my grasp!!! I'm doing one short 3D Doom-ish game called=
 ZZTorture....
Thrill to the fun of blowing away white on blue little ansi smiley faces in=
 a
3D texture mapped world. Now I would like everyone's input on this...
Should the smiley's blood be red or yellow?????? Another member of SP has
announced a new MZX project called Conspiracy, no exact plot yet, but it
should be something to see. If it isn't, well, I'm not letting it be ULed
with the SP label, I know that.... Also, I've taken up the task of teaching
Jairska better MZXing....delete or ignore all old files by Jairska.....

I'm sorry, everyone, but I lost my aol account very abruptly, so I didn't
have a chance the dl the updates from others, thank you for all you guys
attempted to send me.....
My new E-mail address soon.....

Send stuff!!!!

E. CyberBRO: From the depths of AOL are the ZZT/MZX Zone, where you can find
the latest games and I'm here to tell you what to expect from them.

NAME: Code White
TYPE: MZX V2.02
AUTHOR: Qzarko
COMPANY: Tricom
GAME CORE SIZE: 43K
PACKAGE SIZE: 14K
GRADE: C-

Oh, boy. Doesn't this name sound familiar? Code Red rip off you think, hmm.
Well, only the name and the title screen familiarity, instead this is a side-
scroller game which you could tell that this guy like or hated Bill Gates.
This is a pretty, OKay sidescroller. But I found that I had to quit because
of one room when it said I forgot something and sent me back so I found myself
in a loop. It needs a little more work though.

NAME: Mobius
TYPE: ZZT
AUTHOR: Manta1000/David Loschiavo
COMPANY: None
GAME CORE SIZE: 14K
PACKAGE SIZE: Non-Packaged
GRADE: F-

ARGH!!! Sheesh!!!! Let me point out the errors:

	1. Title: Not original, Sonic the Hedgehog lives on this planet. So
I assumed it was like a Sonic game, WHICH IT ISN'T!!!!.
	2. UUGGHH!!! YELLOW BORDERED!!!!!
	3. DAMN!!! NO PLOT!!!!
	4. TOOOOOOOOOO SHORT!!!

And thousands of other problems unbearable to mention. F- for this game,
BUDDY!!!!

NAME: The Clones of ZZT
TYPE: ZZT
AUTHOR: Magik20692
COMPANY: Unknown
GAME CORE SIZE: 86K
PACKAGE SIZE: Non-Packaged
GRADE: D-

I recall getting this game in one of the other mailing lists I've been sucked
into. Recall also him saying that this was his best game and to include it
in Newsletters. Sheesh, that was a dumb idea. The game at some point will
become a loop of two rooms. Need I say more?

NAME: Phoenix Power Magazine #1
TYPE: ZZT
AUTHOR: ZZTPhoenix
COMPANY: Unknown
GAME CORE SIZE: 68K
PACKAGE SIZE: 34K
GRADE: B+ for information

This magazine even though ZZT format has a future, good graphics, promising
games and a few other features. Though in my opinion, this should have been
called the "Phoenix Power Catalog".

NAME: Megasoft Magazine #2
TYPE: ZZT
AUTHOR: ZZZeux
COMPANY: Unknown
GAME CORE SIZE: 33K
PACKAGE SIZE: Non-Package
GRADE: C-

Better than the first issue, which was 25 times worst than our Volume 2 half
issue but still doesn't contain everything, a more decent issue. Even though
our NL is the best newsletter, it's nice to critque others.

NAME: Mad Magazine
TYPE: ZZT
AUTHOR: Allan Gregg
COMPANY: None
GAME CORE SIZE: 85K
PACKAGE SIZE: Non-Package
GRADE: D+

Apparently the title will throw many people off, this isn't another ZZT
magazine, but another crappy game. No need to tell you what this is, It's
just a useless no plot game.

That's it for the first issue of Volume 3. SEND THOSE ARTICLES!!! Next
month's release date: February 1, 1996.
