Cowquest 2

This game actually had some decent comedic writing, all things considered, mostly about being a cow trying to take down burger establishments.

And one board had pacing that was actually OK and a couple of interesting mechanical choices, like timing a bomb and an energizer to take out a centipede more easily.

Unfortunately for all that it lacks balance. One level is easy to cheat naturally, and there's so little ammo left by the time you reach the ruffian board

One thing I think the author was going for was to show you a preview of each level before going inside the main one. Once I understood it, it was kind of neat, but at the outset it was a little disorienting to be in an area I couldn't enter the main part of, then suddenly be in what was not obviously the same area.

Anyway, 2 stars -- 1 for wit/styling, 1 for the partially interesting and balanced run-n-gun.
