Well well well, it's been quite some time since the last publication pack! This is going to be a bit of a test really to see if the new system to cross-post to Mastodon and Twitter simultaneously will work without issue. There's quite a bit in the queue right now, and things are getting perilously close to a second page. So, if all goes well we can knock out a dozen releases from wildcard streams and some alternate versions of preserved worlds to make way for some of the new stuff relating to Weave in the next week.
Or, it will collapse after the first post, and I'll have to do my posting by hand across multiple sites and I will grumble!
Edit: Twitter died two posts in and has been having problems (shocking) all day apparently. Mastodon went smoother but I got rate limited, which, fair.
“The Wise Man (October 1993)” by Patrick C. McCarthy (1993)
An earlier revision of The Wise Man. Now with documentation! Rescue the kidnapped wise man from the evil soldiers before he gives out the duplicator formula!
“Adventures in OakTown (v1.2)” by Shaun Taylor (1993)
An earlier revision of OakTown, also now with documentation! A corrupt fellow programmer is making a mess out of OakTown and it's up to you to stop him.
“Fighter” by Karma (1996)
An ambitious adventure where you complete missions aboard a space station with some unique boss designs and plenty of reactor cores to destroy.
“Fire Fury” by Michael O'Reilly (1997)
After getting into a fight with some nasty soldiers in a bar, Hiro finds himself as part of the rebel forces. Luckily, he's quite the pilot and marksman.
“Fireworks” by Pyro184
A cute assortment of animated fireworks in ZZT. The sort of thing you'd see on title screens and in ending sequences.
“Bandit” by Michael Hargather
Your wife has been kidnapped by the evil bandit Voke. Journey across the world to rescue her, dealing with monsters and mazes along the way.
“Bandit: Part 2” by Michael Hargather
More mazes. More monsters. More walking. Now with lengthy cave sequences! Remember to listen to your friend's advice!
“Bandit: Part 3” by Michael Hargather (1995)
The final showdown with Voke. Deal with his rainbow guards in a variety of action and puzzle scenarios, plus a great "trivia" board that's the highlight of the series.
“Best of ZZT (May 23rd, 1992)” by Scott Hudson, Various (1992)
Identical to "Best of ZZT", except for an earlier revision of ZZT.DAT - the shareware nag messages use the old Epic order line number instead of the new one.
An alternate release of the Best of ZZT series. Identical program, but with different information in the documentation.
“ZZT v3.2 (Shareware, June 1992)” by Tim Sweeney (1992)
Compared to the July 1992 shareware release, this omits the "Software Creations BBS" note in ABOUT.HLP and has minor changes to the "About ZZT..." section.
An alternate release of ZZT itself. Identical program, but with different information in the game's documentation.
“Caverns: Treasure of Gorn (September 1993)” by Alexis Janson (1993)
A surprisingly early build of the first Gorn game that predates its STK graphical overhaul. Raid the cave in search for the lost treasure of ZZT!
“Caverns: Treasure of Gorn (February 1994)” by Alexis Janson (1994)
And lastly, a not so early revision of the first Gorn game, in much more recognizable form.
