Oh, uh, happy new year then. I've been sitting comfortably here letting the queue fill up for almost an entire month, and now I must pay the price of publishing and not actually emptying the queue. I thought I was going to get away with it too!
Looks like we're starting off the new year with mostly some recently streamed worlds throughout the month, including a whole lot of X-Men fan games. There are also some new additions for the new year including TheBigTimeDude's latest demo (which looks choice imo) and an Agent Orange art compilation to boot!
Contents
“Need to Draw” by Agent Orange (2023)
The first new release for 2023! A new art collection by Agent Orange including an entire world of ZZTifications of video game consoles with the usual assortment of pretty picture and horrible memes.
“ZZT Zines Issue Two” by Kev Vance
The second and apparently final issue. A ZZT magazine with some nice art, surprisingly detailed reviews, a mini-game, and ZZT tips!
“X-Men” by -Yea |)og- (1994)
The first of many X-Men ZZT fan games. Cyclops must rescue the X-Men from the evil mutant Capornicas and deal with anti-mutant humans in the process.
“X-Men 2” by Ed Glaser
Unrelated to the previous X-Men game. This one is more ambitious w/ a variety of characters available that each get to use their mutant powers to get through boards in different ways, all while dealing with sentinels and Master Mold.
“X-Men: Episode White” by Aaron Linne
Still another independently made X-Men game. Can you defeat Mr. Sinister and Magneto? They are tigers in this game.
“X-Men: Version Yellow” by Aaron Linne
The sequel! Jean Grey and Wolfsbane have been captured by Pyro. Explore the savage land to find the hidden base where they're being held captive. Watch your step!
“Tomas's ZZT” by Toma (1997)
A short Town-like where players must find five blue keys, enter the goblin's dungeons and defeat the goblin. Assuming the goblin is a threat that is.
“New ZZT” (1997)
Meet the New ZZT. That is, a collection of items, enemies, and bosses to use in your own world. The file also includes an arena allowing players to see how the enemies behave in practice.
“Grow Your Funds” by itsmehere (2023)
An entry for the "lame jam 24" game jam. Mug everyone you see. Except the cop.
“Game Pack for ZZT” (1993)
As assortment of strange worlds including a ZZT tutorial bundled together. Deal with a thief, a killer copy machine, and get some not particularly accurate explanations of various ZZT-OOP commands all in one box!
“Anti Playing Software” by itsmehere (2023)
No playing allowed.
“Bigger Demo: James Bond Vs Blofeld” by TheBigtimeDude (2023)
An expanded demo of a James Bond game that looks to have that chaotic energy and humor that's iconic for TheBigTimeDude's creations. This was a tough one to pick screenshots for.
