** Content Warning: The third game, "Super Stunt Flying" has some excessive flashing on its title and ending screens. While I tried to minimize the amount of time spent on these screens, every death requiring quitting to the title screen to restart so except a few instances of annoying flashes throughout the last portion of this video **
A game so good that two children also made the exact same game. "Dogfight" is an iconic ZZT shooter that begins with air to air combat before things get a little weird and our protagonist winds up going into outer space to stop aliens from annihilating the solar system. Colorful visuals and charming between mission cut-scenes make for a ZZT game that left a mark on a number of players.
So much so, that at least two of them (including me) went on to just make their own knockoffs.
"Air Battle" is my own variant made when I was younger. It was likely made in 1998/1999 and generally follows the same plot beats, other than cutting out the aliens and replacing it with some vague terorrist bad guys instead. It's also incredibly buggy with several missions being easy to soft-lock and one not functioning at all.
"Super Stunt Flying" was a discovery on the unpreserved worlds queue and the inspiration to play this trio as a group. Not to toot my own horn, but it is the weakest of the three with less of a story, fewer missions, and its own share of bugs.
