Livestream of the ZZT world "Rhygar 1 Plus" by Bongo (1997)
A classic ZZT RPG of epic scale. Or at least that's the intent. Bongo's Rhygar games became an iconic series that leaned heavily into writing a compelling story and building up an exciting world.
Rhygar 2 actually got streamed nearly a year ago, and while the first definitely looks more primitive, the focus on the story is apparent, and while it ain't Shakespeare, it's definitely more involved than your average ZZT fantasy adventure. As Rhygar you return to your family's kingdom after setting off to see the world, only to learn about a grave threat to the kingdom that isn't being taken seriously, combined with wanting to continue your journeys against the wishes of your father the king who wants to step down so you can take over.
