Hey paisanos! It's the Super Mario Bros. ZZT fangame Super Show!
While this pack is lacking in professional wrestlers, it is full of previously unseen Mario ZZT games, and a few other releases to round out the numbers a bit. I'll be streaming the various Marios included here this upcoming Friday at 6pm PST over on the Worlds of ZZT Twitch channel!
So let's take a look at what we'll be dealing with...
Contents
“Super Mario 2” by DarkMage (1997)

Of all the Mario games being published today, it should come as no surprise that it's Super Mario 2 by DarkMage that looks to be the best of them all. Some very nice artwork, and (mostly) reasonable looking gameplay. I'll be saving this one for last when I stream these for sure.

“Delivery Rider Madness” by GorgonButt (2022)

Some rough sounding music reveals the secret behind what this newly created single board game is all about. Try not to get run over!

“Liverwurst and Roses (original upload)” by he_the_great (2000)

An alternate release of a game that has some really unconventional perspective for many of its boards!

“Secret Agent of ZZT (v1.1)” by he_the_great (2000)

An updated revision of a game about a secret agent that saves the world from aliens! Uses a visual inventory system on several boards.

“Mario 64” by gchucky (1996)

Oh hey, it's the original release of ZZT's own Mario 64! For years, the only version readily available was a modified version of the game created by GChucky.

“Mario's Monster Mania (v1.0)” by Yoshi98761 (1997)

An incredibly plagiarized game! The name sounded like it might be something cool, but in practice it's almost entirely boards taken from Link's Adventure. I guess this is just predicting Mario Maker 2.

“Mario World” by Evian2, Gilbert (1997)

Despite the name, this short demo is inspired by the original SNES Mario RPG. Enter Bowser's keep, and rescue a dangling princess Peach.

“Super Mario Demo” by Superspy (1999)

Lastly, another Mario RPG inspired game. This one covers much more of the source material, but with some very sparse design.

Stay tuned for some exciting scenes from The Legend of Zelda!
