Livestream of the ZZT world "Fred! Episode 2: Ffreddiannia" by myth (1995)
After all these years I finally manage to get a look at the numerous castles populating the land of Ffreddiannia.
Folks, they're not that great. Fred 2! impresses with its well constructed overworld, and charming little town, but it turns out the actual dungeons as they were aren't quite as pleasant to get through. Interiors are drab, and while some of the action boards are interesting, there are plenty of lengthy dark mazes, unavoidable damage sinks, and finicky boss fights.
Still! Getting to see the rest of the game for once was worth it. I don't know if Fred 2 lives up to its reputation, but it is overall a worthwhile adventure to check out, and one whose rough edges 25+ years later were a bit smoother in the 90s.
