A late 90s RPG similar to Warlord's Temple. Or maybe Warlock's Domain. Your wizard mentor and everyone else in the temple has been killed by some jerk and your job is to get really good at magic to be able to get revenge.
The concept is a solid one, but the game suffers from a lot of ambiguities with how to interact with things that can cause a lot of stumbling your way through the game before you find where you need to go and what you need to do when you get there.
The RPG battles themselves have some nice effects for the era and are enjoyable if you're prepared for them, otherwise they're pretty frustrating and very drawn out.
