The so-called "mainland" of Banana Quest brings us to a final, very high difficulty endgame.

Oh it starts off innocently enough, a library of socks, discovering a ferret in a chest at a construction site, listening to the radio... but the man with the hand held monkey is tired of our sass and demands appeasement via Banana Points. This sends us on the usual quest, only now we're desperate for even fractions of points as we collect bananas of various colors, radios, avocados, and gems to convert to points.

I suppose it's not all bad. The robots of the factory invite this bov boy and Chelsea to live with them in a backroom. How sweet.

There are staring contests, angry villagers, and an even more frustrating return to the previous part's diving game. This time it's combined with the brainwave engine which is a terrifying combination of things. A little cheating may occur here...

But eventually, the points are amassed and we're free to confront the giant ape Mr. Scruthers, assuming we can through a cave filled with some nasty blink wall arrangements.

And for the finale, a test of SPD motions as we charge up our trumpet's power to run over the ape and complete our quest! Our... Banana Quest.

It's an interesting one to say the least! The pacing is slow with how large even the smaller islands are, and the comedy is definitely aimed at the Y2K era community, but it still maintains a sense of weirdness to it that makes it fun to see what will happen next. WiL gives himself the freedom to put whatever he wants wherever he wants, needing no more than to make it a landmark of an island for it to fit in. A real archipelago of oddities that mixes its weird designs with some ZZT engines I certainly wouldn't have guessed I'd be running into anytime soon!
