Exploring more of "Call of Ceathrath" where the difficulty takes a turn for the worse! What appears to be the final dungeon isn't quite the end of the game, though given the enemies players need to deal with, it's easy to mistake it for such!
The evil king's castle is loaded with guards that guards that are only knocked away and to the ground when shot, requiring players to run in after them to shoot again before they get up, along with deadly turrets and more enemies that shoot fiery projectiles when defeated. Fights require much more patience to get through without losing a lot of health, and it becomes apparent that this is a game that I'm going to finish by the skin of my teeth if at all.
It really goes wild after escaping the castle and finding a shortcut to the starting village where a new sealed cave has opened up. Here all the stops are pulled with players needing to fight the strongest opponents yet, a trio of snakes (thankfully one at a time) while still dealing with a number of extra strong and extra sturdy enemies. Plus lava to kill you instantly if you fall in as well as slider puzzles that aren't all that but feel incredibly high-stakes as the lack of any checkpoints makes it so that one misstep will mean restarting the dungeon entirely.
Expect a lot of reloading and a number of retreats outside when progress has been made to not risk it all.
It's definitely weakened my opinion on the game. The challenge is a bit more than I would like, but I can't deny it feels good to get past each new obstacle. I just don't see myself rushing to replay the game anytime soon...
This Sunday the game will either make or break me.
