Some worldly worlds in search of a theme.
First is "Save the World" a very simple adventure with a generic cold war plot of stopping a missile launch. There's not much to it other than guessing which button to press to stop the launch, with two different endings depending on what you press. Also a lot of adding "-ski" after various words to apply a crude accent.
Then a ZZT magazine with the most troubled backstory I've ever seen. Four issues were produced, and the author didn't bother to release them until this collection. So you get the usual issue 1 woes of half the passages asking readers to submit original reviews, previews, games for staff to review, mini games, art, anything else, followed by three more issues of continuing to need to ask as nobody can submit to a magazine that they don't know exists!
There's some fun to be had in some places. The Bomberman arcade game isn't that at all, but it is amusing. A game titled "*.*" in the final issue has some surprises in terms of odd ways to interact with things. That's about it.
The real highlight though was discovering that the final issue of the magazine's "Lame of the Month" award went out to "Save the World" which we had just played beforehand! That was quite the coincidence.
