Oh no no no. No second page.
Without fail "I'm gonna do the next publication pack this afternoon, or maybe tomorrow". And then everybody calls my bluff by uploading new material. I had everything here ready to go except for covering the first game since I was going to be streaming it, and then took my time actually writing those few short sentences.
Time is of the essence, which just so happens to be a major theme of the star new release for this pack. So let's get right to it then.

“Freelance Dungeon” by dave2 (2024)
A brand new release from dave2 that combines arcadey-dungeon crawling with simulation aspects when not underground. After inheriting your grandmother's home and debts, you need to become a freelance dungeoneer in order to pay the bills and keep your new home. Light a fire and gaze in your portal orb for jobs, clearing out monsters for cash. Eat wizard's cheese, feed your grandmother's cat fish to win them over, brew tea, and please turn out the lights before going to bed!
A real impressive vanilla ZZT game that crams quite a number of mechanics onto its main board! This may very well be the first time that a ZZT toilet has been made an important part of the gameplay loop. Please remember to wash your hands afterwards.
“F-Banden” by kristomu
A ZZT game written in Norwegian. Erik Pettersen, single father and investigator. With the help of your son the two of you have put the notorious criminal gang F-Banden behind bars. ...But not for long! They've escaped and once more need to be captured, and this time, you and your son are prime targets.
“Cuban Adventure” by LoonyMike (2000)
Your poor performance in a basketball game has led you to being imprisoned. Luckily they put you in the cell with the key still inside. Now you must get past the guards, sentry guns, and a forest filled with vicious beasts in order to make it to the airport and return home to Tualatin, Oregon.
“Ape II: Return of Monkey Man” by Gabriel Rocklin
Alfred Ape (son of the notorious Aaron Ape) is picking up his father's legacy and attempting to destroy civilization. It's up to Max Monkey, the new Monkey Man, to put a stop to his plans. Travel through the suburbs, the metropolis, future land, and a thankfully lacking in detail native village to collect the keys to Alfred Ape's castle. Just beware of how you spend your money at the circus.
“Mike's Quest 3”
Is this a Monkey Man-Like?
Travel through four worlds: Hantoka Forest, Kuboo Beach, The Big Clouds, and Ultra Castle to collect the keys to the castle of your arch-enemy "The Quesadilla Kid". In addition to the usual baddies, you'll have to face off against a different boss at the end of each world. Only you can defeat the Quesadilla Kid and return the Ultra Emerald back to Tualatin. (Maybe it's a Cuban Adventure-Like?)
“Lion Heart: The Quest for Gothian” by Tommy Thompson (1997)
You are a warrior who fights for justice. When the king tells you that his bride, Queen Veronica, has been kidnapped by bandits, he offers you prince-hood if you are able to bring her back safely. After fighting through the plains and caves, that are just absolutely littered with bears and ruffians, you make it to the kidnapper's hideout and confront them...
What happens next? Well, you'll have to mail the author $2.00 to find out!
“Lion's Den Collection” by Schuyler Frey Schuster (1994)
A compilation of five releases by Lion's Den. Most of which had been seen prior to this compilation's upload, but some unseen games are included as well! This pack included:
- "Kill Barney!" - A game about harassing the purple dinosaur
- "Death Basketball 2020" - Set in the far future (2020), sports have gotten a lot more violent. You have to score the winning basket or else your entire team will be killed.
- "Time Fighter" - Travel through time to rescue captured world leaders scattered across the ice age, colonial times, the future, etc.
- "Time Fighter 2" - You wake up in a forest in the year 1212 and have to find a way to return to your own time (2020).
- "X-Men" - An action game inspired by X-Men for the Sega Genesis. Escape from the computer world which has been infected with a virus by Magneto before he takes over the world!
“Centipede” by Daniel Tiernan
Not quite the Atari original. A series of levels which look a bit like Centipede stages, but players are free to roam them normally, and have to, in order to collect the keys needed to reach the next level.
“The Dragon's Den Demo” by NinjaC86 (1998)
An RPG about avenging the death of your father who was killed by a dragon on your 16th birthday. Take up your sword, right the wrongs of the land, and begin your quest to slay the fearsome beast.
“Escape From Nuff Nuff Land” by Jawatrader (1997)
The long-missing prequel to Return to Nuff Nuff Land. A game that perfectly captures ZZT nonsense humor games of the era. You wake up in a non-padded cell for a change and have to escape. This will require paperwork, spam, rubber Barney dolls, the unholy grail, and crushing Satan with stage lighting.
If you're looking for cheese related humor, try the sequel. This one is more "spam and mentos".
“Staff”
The evil wizard Justicar Ramier has imprisoned you in his dungeons so that he can claim the legendary staff before you do. You'll have to escape, fighting your way through mazes, monsters, and other far-out obstacles. Hope you like invisible walls and backtracking for a dozen keys! Oh, you're also being timed, so get moving!!
“Sha-Kes” by HaHenka
Another instance of a ZZT arena fighting game, featuring ricochet walls, six enemies, a shop, a control panel, and a bug that causes you to win the game instantly. A shame, as the game has some niceties like stopping enemies from spawning when you're doing your shopping.
