Livestream of the ZZT world "Jinx And The Journey" by Graham Peet (1996)

A clever solution to wanting to make a platformer in ZZT without being able to do so! An evil witch has brought perpetual night to the world, and there's no more suitable hero than Jinx who has the incredible ability to fly!

The entire game is framed like a platformer from a sideways view while allowing the player (and enemies who have been sent by the witch and also given the ability to flight) to move around freely.

A highly charming game with some excellent artwork using only ZZT's default visuals, that has a lot of very impressive effects for a game from 1996 like mountains rising and fireworks that put the Alexis Janson ones in ZZT Tools to shame. It's a large adventure with some odd pacing, where it's possible to defeat the witch with less than half the games many boards being visited.

It suffers from one flaw of being pretty obtuse. Keys are hidden in what would be a ZZT pixel hunt, but you'd hardly think to try as there's little guidance for where to go and what to do. Jinx will have to random shoot at castles to get inside, and these frustrations quickly turn into intricate searches using the editor and Musuem file viewer to figure out what to do. Luckily, once the journey gets on its way such moments are considerably rarer.
