Hi! Hello! Remember me?
Every time I know things are going to slow down for a bit I figure I'll just publish a small number of new worlds instead of letting things sit in the queue, and without fail, just as I decide it's time to do so, something picks up the pace of the uploads. This time it's the latest 2.4 Hours Jam, which has wound up being responsible for 3/4ths of the uploads in this very pack!
So, if you're looking for "borrowed" boards from classic games, this is the update for you! It's also the update for you if you're into big community projects to remake classic games, or if you just like the aesthetics of 1980s hacking and phreaking culture! Or if you just like good games because this set is loaded with em!

“Dogfight (v1.04)” by Barney9651, Yenrab (1995)
A new discovery of an old classic! This is an earlier release of Dogfight with a few minor differences. Mostly less use of STK graphics, and a title screen set in the sky rather than in space.
“Cyber Dial Tone” by Clecky (2026)
Description
After 20 years, Clecky comes back and makes his first full size ZZT world, released on ZZT's 35th birthday. He hopes you enjoy this game!
Clecky brings us the first new release of 2026, and it's one to remember. A game dripping with atmosphere, where 80s hacker Anomaly discovers that there's something on the network that the suits don't want anyone to know about. Dial in to systems, erase criminal records, infiltrate local telecomm offices, and let your curiosity guide you to the truth! A really impressive game made all the better through its cast!
“Caves of ZZT Remix” by DarkMatt, The Black Keys (2026)
Speaking of impressive, this community project to remix Caves of ZZT started shortly after the release of 2021's Town of ZZT Remix has finally arrived! (Mind my late publishing.) Thirteen authors took a few stabs at the reimagining the second of ZZT's official worlds, breathing life into the previously uncannily quiet caves. A showcase of creativity and ingenuity, the modern caves are rich with excellent boards. Explore the centipede preserve, and learn of its founder's frustration, near-death, and friendship with the beasts. Take public transit to the underground arcade to play a video game that won't leave Namco's lawyers shaking their heads disapprovingly! Cross the graveyard of the just and unjust to find the fate of your (problematic) faves. Race the Rainbow Road. Confound yourself in the PrismaKey puzzle room. Conquer Hell itself!
Caves Remix is the pinnacle of community collaboration. A true labor of love full of surprises with clever twists on iconic boards, and some impressive salvaging of some of the original's less exciting screens.
“Spin” by Charbomber (2026)
Description
"Just a small fun game."
We love spin! A short arcade game revolving (ha ha) around conveyors, daring you to conquer it without the player being sent to the void via ZZT's iconic player-destroying glitch.
“Planet Red (with infinite apologies to Yenrab)” by Dr. Dos (2026)
The first of a number of submissions to the latest 2.4 Hours Jam.
Topics were to make an introduction without the rest of the game, or to plagairize a board from a "classic ZZT world" and then build the rest of the game around it. Yours truly, opted for an alternate timeline Escape From Planet Red, where your spaceship's crash landing in the middle of an alien city normally sets your on a daring escape from a hostile world. This time, the landing goes more smoothly and you get to explore the wilderness a bit doing boring science stuff instead.
“Keyko's Keys” by Snorb (2026)
Snorb's 2.4 entry. This one stars Keyko as she arrives at City Hall to pay her taxes only to learn that escape isn't so easy. Freshly drawn versions of the familiar location have you hunting down keys to get out and get on with your day already!
“Timing” by Charbomber (2026)
Description
"A game for the 2.4 hours of ZZT jam. I love to time!"
Charbomber's 2.4 entry. Somebody please tell her that Oktrollberfest is intended to be a once-per-year event. Otherwise she will grow too powerful with games like this one. This time it's the infamous "Timing" board from Dungeons of ZZT. Start by reliving the horror, and then watch as the game spirals out of control finding new and terrifying ways to make that room ever more difficult!
“The Three Lakes” by WiL (2026)
Description
THE THREE LAKES
Made for the Winter '26 2.4HoZZT
An attempt to acquit myself for the abomination that was Diving Gem. It is better, marginally.
WiL's 2.4 entry. Here you get to visit Town's Three Lakes. Except this time, you get to dive inside each one, discovering treasures and abilities while dealing with underwater foes and floating/sinking mechanics that restrict your movement.
“A Dink in the Guts” by DeadPhrog (2026)
Description
This is a gross additional dungeon for A Dink in the Grass, a demake and parody of the first of a certain Japanese company's long-running action RPG series.
A Dink in the Guts is part of the 2.4 Hours of ZZT jam. I originally made it in 2024 for a 2.4 entry and expanded it for a 2026 2.4 entry.
Credits:
Writing, Art, Music, Coding: Jeremy W. Kaufmann
Tools: Zeta, Zima by Asie, Zedit2 by Lancer-X, Weave by WiL, ZZT by Tim Sweeney.
You ever steal from yourself? Deadphrog dusts off his 2023 Oktrollberfest entry A Dink in the Grass with a brand new dungeon full of gross looking guts and polyps to slash and bomb through!
“No More Treasure” by Zinfandel (2026)
Description
"No More Treasure", an entry for the Winter 2026 2.4 Hours of ZZT. With apologies to Rotaj Russell for grabbing a board from Link's Adventure Part 1, and apologies to Dr. Dos for not crediting him for showing up for stream.
Zinfandel's 2.4 entry. This one begins with Link's home from Link's Adventure, a game which teaches players of the importance of checking for extra treasure. Take on a few challenge rooms to get big treasures and then conclude your adventure in the castle!
“Lazanya” by RT-55J (2026)
Description
A fantasy adventure for lazanya ingredience!
RT-55J's entry! Here, we see the title screen from Ezanya before setting off on a new adventure to get some lasagna by finding the ingredients around the kingdom. Giant tomatoes, docile cows, a risky trip to the moon for ricotta, and then a raid on a cheesy fortress. End the shortage of this delicacy and win the favor of king Jarfield the Great himself! Fail, and it will be a lifetime of Mondays for you...
“Dr. Dos Discovers the AKWare Toolkit Is Full of Shit” by Snorb (2026)
Description
Based on events from Dr. Dos's Worlds of ZZT stream on Mar 13, 2026.
Pictures taken from the *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine* episodes "In the Pale Moonlight" and "Far Beyond the Stars."
A non-jam submission! While playing Quantum's submission, which takes the AKWare Tool-Kit and dares to use its quiz without the express written consent of the company president, I ruminated that a lot of toolkits had the habit of cheating with solid walls. Rather than include a yellow on dark blue solid that looks identical to a regular yellow solid, they'd just put in a yellow solid. This FRAUDULENT COLOR would prevent authors from being able to use the background color when #PUTting something over it.
Sure enough, the yellow solids on this board are all yellow solids. Snorb created this ZZTification of a meme in response.
Oh, and when looking up the tool kit to link here, I noticed that all the dark colored "solid" walls are in fact normal walls with matching foreground and background colors!
My professional advice is to not use the AKWare tool kit.
