A bonus stream for hitting a Twitch sub goal! Geight and I once again ventures into the Shareware mines with me, and we played a few games that we downloaded earlier. This time, using a wheel and viewer picks to guide us.

First some tech issues! Then the games.

(6:30) Igor: Objective Uikokahonia - a mid-90s point and click adventure about a university student trying to get a date with the woman he likes. The backgrounds were gorgeous, and definitely had Geight and I wanting to see what else it would serve up, but the actual gameplay experience was rather hollow. Most scenes seemed to have very little to interact with and we made no real progress towards anything in the time we played. The protagonist is also a very bad flirt which did not win him any favor from us. Still, looks neat!
(24:29) The Adventures of Lance - An amateurish maze-venture with some heavy inspiration from The Legend of Zelda. Your quest is to find a magic scepter to bring peace to the kingdom. This means going into a cave, navigating a huge maze to find a raft, and then being unable to figure out how to get past a door in a second cave maze while also being unable to enter the only other location. It has an attack button be we didn't run into any enemies! What gives?
(34:48) Wall Street Raider - We love us a good economic simulator. This is a disgustingly in-depth stock market sim where you start with half a billion dollars to invest. Mostly fun for seeing if we could put all our money into Enron. The game says it takes about 2 hours to play through a multi-year long game and there's no way that's accurate unless you've memorized a hundred menus and peculiar ways of data entry. Cute stock ticker effect though.
(50:48) The Buick Open - After the fun we had of the Ford driving simulator we were excited to check out Buick's game where they'll tell you how much their cars cost and then have you go golfing. The car aspects were fun. The golf was a struggle. There will not be a second Buick Open I fear.
(1:10:48) Spelunker - Exploring a randomly generated CGA cave where I found myself disoriented basically immediately. Has ropes, lantern batteries, and hook mechanics that never seemed to come into play. Also has pits you can fall down and die in, just like the real thing!
(1:15:15) God of Thunder - Oops. Geight played this one for like 2 hours. God of Thunder is good. A Zelda-like game starring Thor as he uses his magic hammer to defeat Loki's forces of birds, bats, trolls, and skunks. Geight got into this enough that we just kept playing after our break. He made it to the end and then I had to step in with my leet skills.

All of these games were sourced from Darren Hewer's excellent archive: https://dosgames.comx
